I got my first request!!!

I just got my first full request today. It was from an agent that rejected my last work. She is at a very nice agency and I really want her to rep me. My fingers are crossed and now I am so nervous! I also started looking around at the local law offices and asking about internships. I got a reply back and the guy asked for my resume. I guess we will see what happens with that too. Man today has been one crazy monday!

Christmas is over!

Thank goodness that I made it through Christmas!! It wasn't so bad either. The kids got all they wanted and that was all that mattered to me. Now I just have to get through New Years. I see that must Literary agencies are not opening back up until Jan 5. I have gotten a lot of out of the office replies back. I did get through some but have not heard anything back yet. My fingers are crossed! I am also hoping to hear something back from Firebrand next month. At least I am hoping so. Well I will provide updates as I get them.

Rejections coming in

I have sent out a few queries and so far all rejections. All of them has not came in yet so there is still hope on one of those. I still have a list of names but I am waiting until after New Years. Most of the agents have packed up for the rest of the year and one agent said it is better to wait.

I did it!!!

I turned in the first 20 pages of the YA novel to Firebrand. Now it is the waiting game and I am so nervous. I think it is a great story but there are some faults. I am willing to work on those. I really want an agent and I want the best. I have been burned before and that will never happen again. Boo PublishAmerica!! One good thing did come from it. I found my favorite site, Absolutewrite.

Why I hate editing

I thought writing the novel was the hardest part but I was wrong. I am editing and it is kiliing me! I have chapter 1 and 2 done. Chapter 3,4,5 are out with the beta reader who is busy. I am not sure when those are coming back. I am working on chapter 6 which I am almost done with. I still have 10 more chapters but I am so ready to query this project. I just do not want to jump into things too fast. I trying to get the editing done as soon as possible but keep on the look out for mistakes. I also have to prepare to write the dreaded query and synopsis. Here it goes. Check in when I have some progress to report.

It's done!!!

Last night I finished the YA!!!! I can't believe it. It seems like it took forever when it only took 45 days or so. I have a few chapters out with a beta reader and I am going to post some on the share your work area on absolute writers. That is a site that no writer can do without. I have "met" some really cool people and we are like a family. No title has came to me yet so I hope during editing, something comes to me. Well gotta go. I am heading over to facebook to look up my absolute writing buddies.

Progress on the YA

I have made a lot of progress today on my YA. I broke the 40k mark and I am in the home stretch. I am ready to finish this one and get it off to the beta readers. I am editing already and that helps to cut down the time on that. I also need to make sure I have a good title. So far the title I have is "Children Of The Lost". I am not sure at this point if that is the name I want to submit under but it is all I have so far. I still have time so I am not going to rush it.
I am also happy that I have some new YA stories running through my head. I am going to began the outline for the next one as soon as I get this one on the query mobile. Well I will keep updating as I progress.

Today's events

I got in 1100 words this morning. I am so excited that I am almost done. I hope to get another 1,000 words or more tonight. I should be done in 7 days if I get 2,000 words in each day. 2 weeks if I write 1,000 words a day. Well that's all for now.

Details about YA novel

I am happy to say that this novel is almost done. I have about 13,845k to go and then it gets sent off to the beta reader. I hate editing and I hate the query and synopsis process. I am not really good at it no matter how much I try. Thank goodness for beta readers. I will keep updating at every step so check back for more.

Publishing News

It appears that all is not well in the publishing world. We all know that people were not buying books like they once were. Now I am really scared because it is going to be even harder to get an agent. As if that it is not hard enough already. Do your part and buy some books.

Things happening today

Nothing is really happening. I have been working on the YA and I am about to start searching for a title to it. I can not stand not having a title. I also gave the city a nickname until I figured out what I wanted to name it. I thought after writing so much that things would just some to me but I have had no luck. Well update soon as things happen.

What's happening in my life

I just found out that I may be a big sister. I am 25 by the way so this is shocking to say the least. I am going with my mom to her ultrasound. I am already thinking of book ideas for this! No just kidding. I have three children and I tell you what. Sometimes they drive me crazy. Looking around at the mess they made last night I can see, food, clothes, and toys. It looks like a hurricane went through here! I have been working on the YA novel which is now at a little over 20K. Aiming for 60,000 or more. I have not updated so sorry about that. Life gets busy. Chow for now.

Obama, Obama

Well as everyone knows now Barack Obama will lead our nation. I am beyond thrilled! I hoped and prayed and I voted for the first time. I just hope that we can pull together this great nation and make it rise again.

What's been happening

I had an idea for a new novel that I thought would work but then a whole different idea cam to me. I did not want to use fairies again but the idea begged to be turned into a story. This novel will consist of fairies but also humans. I am really excited about it and I have already started. I even did an outline and I never do that.
On another note, let's talk about the elections coming up. It is so important to vote. Make sure people know the details on both choices. I myself love Obama. He will be the one that fixes what America has become. My point is to get up and get out there and vote.

New Novel

I am now in the process of writing my second novel. I think that I am going to try a small publisher to publish my first book. The second book I know I want to use an agent. Well wish me luck!

Obama and McCain

I must say that I am an Obama supporter all the way. It has nothing to do with experience because no one knows how to run the country. I want what is best for out country and Obama is it. Just say no to McCain!

My first novel

I just finished my first novel and I am so excited! I write short stories but one of them was begging to be turned into a novel so that is what I did. Now I am shopping it around to try to find an agent. The wait is killing me. The title of it is Talena: The Empress Fairy. Is that cool or what! Well anyways just wanted to keep everything updated.
